Born in a family that struggled to make ends meet, Rinku Singh emerged as a promising talent in the world of cricket. He made headlines after an impressive record breaking stint of hitting 5 consecutive sixes in an over in the Indian Premeire League in a match against Gujarat Titans in 2023.
A left-handed middle-order batter, Rinku 's journey to prominence began with his domestic cricket career for Uttar Pradesh, where he displayed his potential at various junior levels. His breakthrough came at the tender age of 16 when he debuted in List A cricket in March 2014, top-scoring with an impressive 83 runs.
In the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy, Rinku made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh, estsblishing his place as a vital player for the team. Rinku's IPL journey has been marked by remarkable feats and resilience. Despite being sidelined by a knee injury in 2021, he made a strong comeback, earning his first Man of the Match award in 2022 for a quickfire 42 runs off 23 balls against Rajasthan Royals.
Rinku's international career began in 2023 when he debuted for India in a T20I against Ireland. He quickly made an impact, scoring a brisk 38 in his second match.
His talent was further highlighted during India's 2023-24 tour of South Africa, where he scored his first T20I half-century with an unbeaten 68 and debuted in One Day Internationals (ODIs). Notably, in a match against Afghanistan in January 2024, Singh and Rohit Sharma set a record 190* run partnership, the highest for India in T20Is and the highest for the 5th wicket globally.
